How to Create WhatsApp Broadcast Groups and Import Contacts

Use WhatsApp Groups as internal campaign audiences. They are not WhatsApp group
chats.

STEP 1: CREATE A GROUP

 1. Open WhatsApp Groups → New group.
 2. Enter a clear Group name.
 3. Choose Create.
 4. Select the group card to manage it.

STEP 2A: ADD EXISTING CONTACTS

 1. Use Search inbox contacts.
 2. Select the intended people.
 3. Choose Add selected.
 4. Review the displayed contact count.

STEP 2B: IMPORT A CSV

 1. Select the intended group.
 2. Choose Import CSV.
 3. Use the first column for the phone number.
 4. Use the second column for the optional name.
 5. Use complete international numbers with country code.
 6. Try a small sample first.

 * The importer removes non-digit characters from the number.
 * Numbers that are too short are skipped.
 * There is no general spreadsheet field-mapping screen.
 * Keep your original source file.

CHECK THE IMPORT RESULT

 * Contacts are deduplicated.
 * A processed-row count may not equal newly added unique contacts.
 * Creating a group sends no messages.

BEFORE USING THE AUDIENCE

 * Include only appropriate opted-in recipients and respect opt-outs.
 * Importing a number does not give marketing permission.
 * Use a clean audience if unsuitable contacts cannot be removed with current
   controls.
 * Ask support before launching if you cannot correct the audience.
